Vintage Interior Inspiration: The Bedroom

Hi Loveys,

I did a recent post on some images that inspired me within the home, originally my blog was intended for interior as that is an area I am obsessed with so after the success of my recent post I have decided to do a series on interior inspiration and today it is what inspires me for the bedroom.

All images are taken from Google.

I adore soft colours, draped fabrics and glamorous accessories, this bedroom speaks all those things to me!

This bedroom has a very clean yet feminine feel to it.

Floral fabrics always entice me, teamed with a glass chandelier and you are onto a winner!

This is such a clever idea, take a vintage suitcase and use it to display your favourite items, this image is actually a wedding display but imagine this in your bedroom with your favourite photos or jewellery.

Wow is all I can say with this image, an effortless room oozing with glamour and muted tones.

This is what I define as romantic French, it isn't "shabby chic" with chintz floral fabric, its ruffles, white linen and vintage accessories that make this room as beautiful as it is.

This image shows an unusual display above the bed, a collection of vintage lingerie, why not hang a display of your collection of maybe vintage dresses or bags.

Rachel Ashwell is a designer I Love, I adore her use of colours and fabrics, she is the woman who pretty much started "Shabby Chic" not Cath Kidston but the vintage inspired romantic shabby chic that I adore, don't get me wrong I do like some Cath Kidston items but to me it isn't what I see as vintage inspired, its floral and pretty but Rachel Ashwell is romantic and it can appear as though she has picked it up from a French vintage market. See below her bed linen that I also have on my bed, its such a stunning simple design.

Fairy lights can make any room romantic, soft lighting can add warmth and a fell of comfort to any room especially when placed amongst fabric.

What do you think? How do you like a bedroom to look?

Review: The Vintage Cosmetics Gracie Lashes

Hi Loveys!

Here is an exciting *review for you all! As you may all know I have not worn false lashes, I have never been able to apply them and quite frankly am just not great at it so was excited to receive these beautiful "Gracie" lashes to review and practice with, and hopefully enable me to find some lashes that work for me.

The vintage cosmetics company, false lashes, falsies, how to apply, how to apply false lashes, fake, pretty, pink, review, tutorial, 50s makeup I had heard of The Vintage Cosmetics Company before and always adored the packaging, a vintage 50s vibe! The pretty pink background, adorned with flowers and a glamorous 50s lady appeals to the eye, the packaging is that gorgeous I would just lay these on my dressing table in the packaging!

These lashes come with a self adhesive glue and are re-usable which is a bonus! The instructions at the back of the package is clear and easy to follow, the lashes are easy to take out of the packaging and the glue has a handy stick to apply it with ease. I took the lashes out and applied the glue along the strip lash line, using tweezers I applied the lashes onto my lash line trying to get them as close to the root as I could which I admit I struggled with! Practice makes perfect I guess. I pressed them down, stepped back and admired what I saw!! WOW I have lashes that look natural and beautiful! I was grinning like Cheshire cat, I am hooked!

Review: MAC Angel Lipstick

Hi Loveys,

Here is my review of the famous Kim Kardashian favourite MAC Angel lipstick. This is a frost finish meaning it is slightly glossy, moisturising, with a shimmery colour. The colour is not long lasting like the matte finishes but still it wears well. The shade Angel is loved by Kim Kardashian, it is a lip colour but better if that makes sense! It is such a pretty nude that would look gorgeous with a smokey eye!

This lipstick is one that I know will be added to ever growing favourite lipstick list! Literally I have a huge favourites list! Have you tried this lipstick? If so what did you think? What is your favourite MAC lipstick?

Review: Easilocks Rose Gold Oil

Hi Loveys!

*The oil that Lucy Meck uses, Easilocks Rose Gold Oil, this oil can be used on hair extensions and natural hair, it states it "unlocks the secret to beautiful hair" its a silky oil that goes on smoothly, it isn't sticky and sinks into the hair easily. I was worried it would be greasy for my hair, but it wasn't, it added such a lovely shine and felt it helped me curl my hair with ease, my hair felt silky and I AM IN LOVE!!!

The scent of this product reminds me of marshmallows and sweets, just like the Taylor Swift perfume! I love it, I wish they did a candle in this scent so I didn't have to keep swishing my hair around my face to smell it!

The oil contains

Rose Oil
Carrot Oil
 Chamomile Oil
 Coconut Oil
 Linseed Oil
 Soybean Oil
 Argan Oil
 Tahitensis flower extract

Wow what a combination of oils for your hair! These oils will nourish and help repair your hair, which I feel is true, as my hair feels so silky without looking greasy, it has reduced the appearance of split ends and makes my hair appear glossy!

Have you tried this?

Vintage Interior Inspiration! Pretty Pastels

Hello Loveys,

Here is a post of inspiration, I love trawling through Google for inspiration, from pretty fabrics to cute ideas it all inspires me so here are a few pictures taken from Google of what has inspired me this week.

How pretty are these jars filled with a drink, tied with pretty ribbon and a wedge of lemon, definitely want to do this in summer!

I wish I could organise my desk area like this, the clash of prints with the simple white lines inspire me to change my living room!

I adore the mixture of pastels and bright shades, the pretty teapots and cutlery with a hint of nature by the addition of the pink flowers makes me think of spring!

I adore seeing vintage pieces like this beautiful door adorned in tatty vintage wallpaper, I think its stunning and would love to buy a house with a room or rooms where the tattered wallpaper has been kept on the walls!

I love vintage tins, especially pretty ones which I struggle to get hold of, so this trio of floral ones are adorable!

I think the colours within this picture attracted my eye towards it! That rose is stunning, mixed with white and vintage books makes it seem dreamy!

Which is your favourite picture?

Review: Cheap Skincare! Lacura skincare

Hi Loveys!

*So here is a review I am excited to write, a review that screams cheap but blimin cheerful! This skincare range is available in Aldi, a supermarket in the UK which also has stores in Europe.

Aldi, Skincare, Review, Cleanser, Moisturiser, Cheap, Bargain, Spotty skin, Oily, Magnolia, BioEcolia, Pretty, Skin, Face mask, Gel wash, Exfoliator
Clear Effect Daily 3 in 1 Cleanser, Exfoliator and Face mask
This gentle everyday use cleanser is now a firm favourite in my skincare collection, its handy 3 in 1 use means no fussing over products and the fact that it is £2.99 means it is a must have!! When I first used the cleanser I fell in love instantly with the fresh yet floral scent, it has a creamy white formula with tiny little blue balls that act as the exfoliator. I now use this cleanser everyday after the removal of my eye makeup, it is so gentle that it acts as a cleanser and exfoliator in one. The face mask is a gentle mask that adds a glow to the skin, it balances the skins natural oils and I felt it was gentle enough to use 2-3 times a week. This product contains Magnolia and BioEcolia which helps "protect and strengthen the natural and biological defence system of the skin, helping to create a more even and radiant complexion. I would agree that it gives a radiant complexion, I love the fact it helps protect and strengthen the skin as this would help with anti-ageing, and as I am nearly 29 I can start to see the signs of ageing- literally could sob after writing that sentence! I would highly recommend this product.
Aldi, Skincare, Review, Cleanser, Moisturiser, Cheap, Bargain, Spotty skin, Oily, Magnolia, BioEcolia, Pretty, Skin, Face mask, Gel wash, Exfoliator
Clear Effect Daily Gel Wash
This gentle gel wash is a blue non sticky gel that you apply to the skin then circulate around the skin and wash off. I tend to steer away from gel washes as have found them sticky in the past but this formula is creamy and moisturising, I was shocked at how well it cleaned my skin, I applied this and as I was rinsing my skin I could see the foundation and dirt swirl around my skin, gross I know! It states it "thoroughly removes impurities and makeup to reduce shine and greasiness", this sentence is how I would describe it! My skin has gone in oil overdrive lately so this range has been helping to control this. This product also contains BioEcolia and Magnolia, it has the same fresh yet floral scent as the 3 in 1 cleanser. £2.99.

Clear Effect Mattifying Moisturiser, Clear Effect Soothing Night Cream and Tinted Moisturiser

I thought I would add these all in the same section as they similar products. All three creams are moisturising and light, the night cream is slightly thicker but not too heavy which I like. The day cream has Magnolia and BioEcolia meaning it protects the skin and creates "immediate mattifying effect with 24 hour moisture" I would agree you do instantly get a matte skin appearance, but I am not sure that it moisturises for 24 hour, for me, as felt that by the evening my skin was ready for my makeup removed and for some night cream to be applied. The night cream contains active ingredients of balloon plant echium and sunflower oil to "sooth stressed out skin and promote suppleness overnight". I would agree, this cream didn't send my skin into oil overdrive that some can do and it calmed my skin, making it feel soft and moisturised! The tinted moisturiser again isn't too thick, its a subtle tint that adds a lovely glow to the skin, it isn't greasy and lasted quite long, it isn't something I would purchase as such as I am one to want to full coverage, but if you are looking for a tinted moisturiser that will give a light coverage and will make your skin feel super soft then this is for you! Each cream is again £2.99 an absolute bargain!!

Have you tried this range or anything else from the Lacura range?
