Review: Toni&Guy 3D Voluminser

What a gorgeous few days we have had?! I am loving this sun guys! I am currently chomping some strawberries with a glass of lemon water- it's how I roll.

So let's talk about today's review, the Toni&Guy 3D Volumiser, a root boosting spray that promises to make your hair go oomph! This item was on offer in Superdrug a while back so thought I would give it a whirl!

The packaging is simple with a "dirty gold" colour and pink detailing, it didn't stand out as Toni&Guy to me, have they changed the packing lately? The spray has a handy nozzle that can direct the product directly to the root, I found that made the product easy to use.

I washed my hair the night before, brushed it and lifted my sides up to spray the product into my roots for instant volume. My hair did increase in volume which was just what I wanted, the down side is the product left my hair crispy and dry which irritated me as I want my hair to flow and not look like I have gone back in time to the era of using a whole bottle of hairspray so your hair doesn't move! It's such a shame as the product does add volume but how it makes my hair feel is something that unfortunately puts me off, queue sad face emoji!

Have you tried this or know of any great products to add volume?

Review: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

The sun is shining, well for now, the UK can not seem to make up its mind on the weather, one minute the sun is shining and next its pouring with rain! So here is a bright beautiful lip product to brighten your day come rain or shine.

I am so late on the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lip products! Bourjois seem to be on point the last few months with lip products, palettes and mascaras and here is a gem of a product they have available.

The Rouge Edition Velvet comes in many different shades ranging from nudes to bright pinks such as this beauty, Pink Pong. These editions come in a matt finish but not drying at all, they apply on the lip easily and feel glossy yet they are matte. The formula is long lasting and has one of the best pigments I have experienced when it comes to liquid lipsticks which is long lasting. Your lips don't feel dry or sticky when product is applied, it feels moisturising and leaves your lips feeling soft. I really do like these and can not wait to try more! The colour is such a vibrant colour, it reminds me of MAC Girl about town lipstick.

As you can see above the application is a soft foam applicator. It is a handbag friendly size, with a glass bottle which makes it seem high end rather then highstreet.

These are available in online and in store at Boots and Superdrug.

Review: BB Beauty Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner

I was lucky enough to be sent the BB Beauty Brunette Intense Shampoo and Conditioner. I struggle to find a shampoo and conditioner that wows me and was intrigued to see how these would work as they are meant to improve the brighten your hair whether coloured or natural.

I have a little love for the tube bottle packaging, it is easy to get the product out, you will for sure use all the product up. The packaging is a bronze effect with clear labelling, I love the colour! Imagine if it was rose gold! I have trialled these for one month and used them in every wash, I then waited to use another product for a couple of weeks to see the difference and I did see a difference believe it or not. When I started using the product my favourite feature was the scent, it is so delicious and would enjoy washing my hair because of it. I am not great at describing it but it reminds me of flowers, your favourite sweet and holidays all rolled into one without it being overpowering. The product is brown and can be annoying if you get it on the bath but don't wash it off straightaway.

After a couple of weeks I noticed my hair was brighter, I had a comment from a work colleague on how shiny my hair was! I never get comments like that about my hair!
The conditioner states it "infuses smooth, silky feel to dry or damaged hair" whilst the shampoo "rehydrates, softens and smoothes dry or damaged brunette hair".
My hair felt silky and I felt my coloured hair looked in better condition. I used both the shampoo and conditioner, they complimented each other, the shampoo lathered well, whilst the conditioner left a silky feeling on my hair, I didn't feel the need to use my hair oil!

I would highly recommend these and am waiting to get my hands on another lot as these have made my hair look and feel better, silky, brighter and generally happy.

Review: Poundland Makeup Brush!

I am always on the look out for a great makeup brush, one that is soft and enables me to create the makeup looks I desire. Finding affordable makeup brushes can be a mundane task that is trial and error, I stumbled upon a makeup brush in Poundland where I was initially attracted to the packaging like many of us are! So the real test was the makeup....

This is a blusher brush, I used it for both blusher, bronzer and to contour. I adore this brush, it is super soft and picks up product very well without it spilling all over the place as some brushes have in the past. This brush feels like a MAC brush, it helped me create a subtle contour, a bronzed all over look and a rosy cheek. I am so happy with this brush and for only £1!!!

One thing you can't get away from is the pretty pink and white brush! How cute is this ombre look! It looks so good on any dressing table.

Review: Topshop Eyeshadow....

If you follow me on Twitter then you may have seen me asking around for a metallic deep red eyeshadow. I got some great recommendations and in the end went with the Topshop eyeshadow in Explorer, a stunning deep red almost purple metallic shade, this shade is beautiful and a shade I have not seen elsewhere.

This shade is a gorgeous matte shade with a metallic sheen, it applies well and lasts a good length of time, especially when applied with a little water as it goes super metallic and creates more of a dramatic look. This shadow would look perfect with gold and particularly suit brown and blue eyes. The colour looks exactly like it does within the packaging when applied on the lid, as I find some shadows can be quite different but luckily you get what you see with this product. The pigmentation is just as you would want from an eyeshadow, a deep intense colour that doesn't need a lot of application to get the pigment to show.

I am going to be using this shade in a Youtube video so you can see the look on my channel, link to my channel is on my homepage.

Review: Real Techniques Sculpting Brush Set

Now who wants to see some gorgeous makeup brushes?! Urm yes please!!! Look at these beautiful makeup brushes from Real Techniques, the Sculpting Set has been on my mind for a while and saw these on offer in Superdrug for only £13.99 instead of £20.99.
This set has three brushes, a fan brush, a sculpting brush and finally a setting brush which all have gorgeous pink metallic finished handles.

The fan brush is a brush that people may look at and think what in the world is that?! This brush was quite new to me a few months ago but when I saw some Youtube gurus using it I realised how vital it was in a makeup set. This brush is perfect for highlighting which is what I use this beauty for, the soft brush grabs hold of my highlighting and with gentle soft strokes it creates the perfect highlight on my cheekbones. The brush is easy to use and applies product perfectly onto the face creating a natural yet gorgeous effect.

The sculpting brush is a thick sturdy angled brush rather then some flimsy ones that I have come across. The brush has soft bristles that is created to perfectly create that Kim Kardashian contoured look, it is great for the hollows of your cheek as the brush sculpts your cheekbone but I have heard some people say the brush is too dense for powder products but I have not found it an issue and have actually loved it with my bronzer and can imagine it would be great for a cream contour.

The setting brush is a soft small shaped brush that I use for setting my powder around my face and can imagine it being versatile to use with other products such as a contour product or concealer brush. The brush is so soft that it glides along the face easily and when used with my setting powder creates a perfect finish picking up the product with no fuss.
